1910: Col. Thomas Davis founded San Diego Army and Navy Academy in Pacific Beach.
1921: SDSU played it’s first football game vs. the ANA junior college team when ANA had grades through the 14th grade. ANA no longer has a junior college.
1936: Financial problems due to the economy forced the closure of the Pacific Beach campus. The school was moved to Carlsbad and renamed Davis Military Academy after the founder. 37 cadets enrolled at the school. When Davis retired the name went back to San Diego Army and Navy Academy. The Pacific Beach campus was sold to John Brown University and was named Brown Military Academy in 1938.
1944: Changed name from San Diego Army and Navy Academy to Army and Navy Academy.
1987: O.J. Simpson’s son, Jason, played football for the Warriors.

1882: Russ High opened on August 14th.

1914: Balboa Stadium was built for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition with an original capacity of 34,000. The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, U.S. Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt have all had events at Balboa Stadium. The Chargers played at Balboa Stadium from 1961-66.
