The inaugural Under Armour Brothers in Arms Classic is this weekend with games all over San Diego. The games include the # 1 team from three states, Serra (Gardena, CA), Jordan (Sandy, UT) and Punahou (Honolulu, HI). There is a double header at Cathedral on Friday and four games at Cathedral on Saturday. Also, four of the top 10 teams from Arizona will be making the trip to San Diego. The final two games at Cathedral each feature a # 1 ranked state team.
Local games this weekend include the Oceanside vs. St. Augustine game at Mesa College, San Pasqual at Torrey Pines, a double header at Cathedral with local teams Vista and Cathedral as well as Westview hosting Westview of Avondale, AZ.
Cathedral hosts the # 1 ranked team from Utah, Jordan (Sandy, UT) on Friday at 8 pm while Vista plays La Serna (Whittier, CA) at 5 pm in the doubleheader.
The biggest game all weekend takes place when preseason state # 1 Serra (Gardena, CA) plays Arizona # 5 Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ) at Cathedral on Saturday at 4 pm. Also on Saturday Mission Hills plays the # 1 team from Arizona, Hamilton, Helix Charter plays the top ranked team from Hawaii, Punahou and Eastlake plays the # 2 team from Arizona, Hamilton.
There is a single game next weekend when Helix Charter hosts Northridge (Layton, UT) on Friday, September 6th.

The Classic is hosting football games in twelve states with over 40 teams playing games on multiple weekends.
The first game was on August 20th when Viewpoint (Calabasas, CA) played at Thunder Mountain in Juneau, Alaska.
The Brothers in Arms Foundation was established after LT Brendan Looney, US Navy SEAL and 2004 US Naval Academy graduate was killed in Afghanistan when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed during combat operations in 2010. Looney was a football and lacrosse player at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD and at the Naval Academy.
Looney recognized the value amateur athletics could play in the lives of young men and women and the unifying effect of amateur athletics among diverse groups of people.
The Costa Mesa, CA based Foundation will host annual sporting events as part of the Foundation’s overall activities. The events are designed to increase awareness of military service and support assistance programs for active members of the military, veterans, and their families while highlighting the importance of community service.
