Current NBA Draft Rules

The following rules were established in the league's 2005 collective bargaining agreement (CBA).  There has been talk among the NBA owners & players to change the rules.  The following rules are valid since the high school class of 2006, which included Chase Budinger, Kevin Durant and Greg Oden:

All players must be at least 19 years old during the calendar year of the draft. 

All U.S. players must be one year removed from the graduation of his high school class.  U.S. players are defined as players who were born in the U.S., live in the U.S. or attended a U.S. high school or college.
