Top scorer Gerald Green (24 points) and six others players declared for the NBA draft after the game. But the 2005 Game wasn’t out shined by these soon-to-be NBA rookies; it was Duke-bound Josh McRoberts who grabbed the MVP title with 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting with a game high of 12 rebounds. Another future Blue Devil, Greg Paulus, had nine assists and 13 points, making 7-of-8 free throws in the final 2 minutes to help the East hang on for a 115-110 win after the West came back strong in the second half from a 22-point deficit. The West team was led by Mario Chalmers, scoring 20 points, while also adding five assists and five steals.
